Aimee here with another great week of new releases gracing the shelves of The Haunted Book Shop!

Young Adult

Fantasy

Kids

Like a lot of people in the days of pandemic lockdown, I binge-watched a lot of New Girl and laughed at actor Max Greenfield’s (aka Schmidt) Instagram videos showing the struggles of virtual learning. So I was really excited to hear about I Don’t Want to Read This Book written by Schmi-I mean, Max-and illustrated by Mike Lowery. Words, sentences, and even worse, paragraphs fill up books. Ugh! So what’s a reluctant reader to do? Enter this high-energy and hilarious picture book perfect for those kids (and adults) who think they don’t want to read books. Hashtag excitement!

Interrupting Chicken: Cookies for Breakfast is the latest book featuring David Ezra Stein’s little red chicken! When the little red chicken wakes up bright and early on a Saturday morning craving cookies for breakfast, she tries to persuade Papa by jarring him awake and inserting cookies – and herself! – into every nursery rhyme they read together. Will the early bird get the cookie? Read along and find out!

Comics & Graphic Novels
